The Walking Dead Season 4 Starts Production

While it had been previously announced that The Walking Dead Season 4 would not start production until May 6, it appears that things are kicking off a little earlier than anticipated. Production work started on The Walking Dead Season 4 this week with several members of the cast and crew arriving in Georgia on April 23, 2013.
It’s unclear if producers have actually started filming at this time yet, but both cast members and producers are present so some type of production work looks to be taking place, even if it’s just brainstorming sessions or location scouting. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, was spotted recently in Peachtree City, Georgia. The actor also confirmed via Twitter that he was back in Georgia.

In addition to Norman Reedus, producers Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero are also confirmed to currently be in Georgia working on production for The Walking Dead Season 4. On her official Twitter, Gale Anne Hurd wrote, “Happy to be back in Georgia, my home away from home. Loved BBQ lunch in the sunshine today with the fantastic TWD crew.”
Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has also confirmed via Twitter that the Walking Dead writing staff is back at work and enjoying some tasty pizza. The Walking Dead Season 4 will premiere in Fall 2013 on AMC.
