Fellow executive producer Scott Gimple also drops a cryptic hint about the "mother nature" threat that will feature this season that now leads me to believe that it's not actually the weather that will be plaguing Rick's band of survivors but disease. Said Gimple, "The new threat is something you can’t just stab in the face. You can’t talk sense to it. You can’t make a truce with it. It’s beyond all that. It would be a threat in any world, but in this world it is much more terrifying."
The lead in for that quote is that the threat described is located inside the walls of the prison.
