Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro Bringing ‘Silent Hill’ Back To Life

Scary, sexy, cool.

And just like that, “Silent Hill” became a must-watch property again.

Two years after the most recent installment in the series, a new “Silent Hill” video game has been announced, and the talent involved is, in a word, huge. “The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus is set to lend his voice and likeness to “Silent Hills,” a mysterious new video game from “Metal Gear Solid” mastermind Hideo Kojima, and legendary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.

Reedus and del Toro’s involvement in the “Silent Hill” series was revealed through an interactive “playable teaser” released yesterday on the PlayStation Store. The so-called “P.T.” sees players walking through a rundown apartment, the rooms warping and deteriorating until finally giving way to the world outside — revealing a man walking down a dark and empty street… a man with the unmistakable face of Norman Reedus.

There’s no word on when “Silent Hills” will be available, and no word on how exactly del Toro is involved. No story details, no character details — not a whole lot just yet. But this is one of those cases where the names of the talent involved are more than enough to get the wheels spinning out of control with excitement.

Norman Reedus Thanks Fans, Promises “Great” Book of Artwork

For months, The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) has been assembling a book of fan art as a way to show his legions of adoring fans just how much he appreciates them. 

We mean, what says thanks better than having one of your favorite actors publish your art?! And now it sounds like the highly-anticipated book could be nearing completion. Woohoo!

On May 25 Norman tweeted, “Thank u everyone that sent in artwork really great stuff. Book is gonna be great. You guys are the best thank you!!!”

Throughout this process Norman has been sharing some of his absolute favorite fan art, so we totally trust him when he says a great book is on the way — you guys are pretty darn talented!

Given Norman (and Daryl’s) fan-favorite status, we’re not surprised that he was The Walking Dead cast member to take this task on. Let’s also not forget that the 45-year-old actor clearly has an artistic eye. Last year he released a book of photographs, The Sun's Coming Up ... Like a Big Bald Head, and the collection — including snaps of roadkill and pictures from TWD’s Atlanta set — received a ton of praise from media outlets and fans alike.

Less than a week after Norman announced his plans to publish a book, he had already received thousands of submissions and set a May 13 deadline, which has now come and gone. From the sound of Norman’s tweet, we’d say the submission period is over, but that just means we’re one step closer to a finished product.

Still no word yet on when the book will be released, but if it comes out before Season 5 premieres, then it will be a good way to pass the time. Either way, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Norman Reedus Describes His Most Memorable Fan Encounter — You Won’t Believe What He Was Asked to Do!

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) has had his fair share of memorable fan encounters involving everything from being gifted squirrel meat to receiving a used breast implant in the mail, but we think this recently revealed request from a clearly devoted fan really takes the cake!

PeoplesChoice.com put together a montage of celebs discussing their most memorable fan encounters and what they involved, and in our opinion Norman’s reveal easily took the cake. 

“I blew my breath into a plastic bottle and sent it to Tokyo,” The Walking Dead star said, seemingly without realizing just how strange that statement is. But that, ladies and gentleman, is just part of why we love him so much — he doesn’t think twice when a fan asks him to breathe into a bottle.

What's this? Our favorite TV stars — including The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) — all in the same room, posing for a camera in what looks like some kind of magazine shot?

Hopefully this is a magazine cover waiting to happen, 'cause it's gold.Entertainment Weekly, maybe, orTV Guide?

Norman shared the photo on May 1, offering no caption. From left, it shows Vera Farmiga of Bates Motel, Norman of TWD, Lizzy Caplan of Masters of Sex, Liev Schreiber of Ray Donovan, Julianna Margulies of The Good Wife, and Jon Hamm of Mad Men.

As one commenter put it, "This is like a freaking all star who's who." Heck yeah it is! And maybe it's a future 2014 Emmy winners who’s who?

The other actors/actresses are all leads of their respective shows, so good for Norman for repping TWD on the same level. Daryl Dixon is the boss. (No offense, Rick Grimes! Maybe Andrew Lincoln was in another room, posing for his own photo…)

9 Reasons We ADORE Norman Reedus

He shot his way into our hearts like some dirty, redneck Cupid.  And we can't seem to shake him off.  To understand why, here are 9 reasons we seem to endlessly adore Norman Reedus. (Really, we just wanted an excuse to look at Norman Reedus all day.)

1. He loves his cat, Eye In The Dark.  Seriously, Google images of "Norman Reedus Cat"...it's adorable.

2. His acting range is spectactular.  Look up every film he did before The Walking Dead.

3. His reaction to being punked by Nick Santonastasso and Andrew Lincoln is priceless.

4. He published his own book of photography.

5. His ability to go from redneck to GQ model in 3.5 seconds.

6 His favorite food is chocolate.  Enough said.

7. He plays a perfect "broken badboy" that we all want to hold together (I can fix that!).

8. He's not afraid to cry (real men can cry).

9. And the final reason may or may not have everything to do with those biceps...

‘The Walking Dead’ Star Norman Reedus Wants to Make a Book of Artwork Made by his Fans and New Stuff

It is Thanksgiving already! Norman Reedus wants to make a book of artwork made by his fans. He tweeted and expressed his desire to collaborate with his hardcore fans who tweet/Instagram/mail/Facebook him their art featuring the crossbow dude Daryl Dixon. 

An artist himself, Norman Reedus certainly knows the value of art and this is his way to connect with his fans. Norman is likely to include new stuff in the book along with artwork by fans. "love you guys. I've decided to make a book of the artwork you've made me me over the yrs. and new stuff! with your permission of course.x," tweeted Norman Reedus.

Later, he shared the e-mail address where fans can send the necessary artwork and Rachel is helping him compile and put together this new book. "please send artwork to Bigbaldbook1@gmail.com (rachel helping me) lets make a fan art book . heck yeah . love you guys. gonna be cool!!"

Norman Reedus' fans have been sending artwork to him which he shares on a daily basis via his Twitter,Facebook and Instagram pages. He truly cherishes the efforts made by the people who love him as a person as well as his on-screen avatar - Daryl Dixon.

As soon as Norman tweeted about this new art project, his fans started responding - clearly they are psyched about it. "@wwwbigbaldhead omg that's awesome! I hope my work makes it! Xoxoxo," tweeted Valentina Blackheart.

Norman Reedus is a photographer and his photography book titled "The Sun's Coming Up ... Like a Big Bald Head" includes photos of places that he visited during his career.

Norman talked to The Hollywood Reporter in August 2013. He mentioned that it is "very personal" and comes with a nice hardcover.

"[The photos are] through my eyes, like my interpretation of what my surroundings were at certain times -- so some of the photos are from a John Carpenter film that I worked on and he builds these insane worlds and crazy characters and I sort of kidnapped a few of those people and took them on a little journey of my own," said Norman.

Norman Reedus to Try Comedy Next? He Says...

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) has some pretty funny quips on The Walking Dead every now and then, but we’d hardly call his fan-favorite role a comedic one. After all, there’s only so much humor one can find in the end of the world, right?

In an interview with Refinery29, Norman admitted that he’s generally attracted to characters with darker pasts, but he certainly wouldn't rule out taking on a more comedic role in the future.

“I do play people with troubled pasts; I do look like that sort of person. That being said, I never really get seen in a comedy. I’d be great in a comedy,” he declared. “I might be the only one who thinks I’m funny, but I think I’m kind of funny.”

However, when asked if we should keep an eye out for him in a Will Ferrell-esque slapstick movie, Norman seemed less sure. “I mean, it can be fun. I don’t think it’s really my thing. Just hanging out with those kind of geniuses on set, like that. There is also something about comedians, a sadness. It’s sort of intense sometimes. Those guys are all geniuses. I don’t know if I’d do Dude, Where’s My Car, but working with someone like Will Ferrell? Hell yeah. Or Eastbound and Down? I love that show.”

So it sounds like comedy could be in Norman’s future, so long as it’s not something mindless. With acting chops like his, though, we certainly think he’s earned the right to be a little picky!

Comedy aside, Norman was also asked if there was any role he would never touch. His pragmatic answer is just another reason why we love him.” A part that I wouldn’t play? Maybe something that has just been done to death. I know they are remaking everything now. If someone said, 'Would you like to play Joe Buck from Midnight Cowboy?' I’d be like, 'That’s my all-time favorite movie in the world. But, can you really do it better than Jon Voight did it? Could you even attempt that?' Like thinking of remaking Taxi Driver. Would you ever remake Taxi Driver? I don’t know — I couldn't do that kind of a part.”

We totally agree, a remake isn’t always a good thing and sometimes the classics are better left alone. Yes, Carrie Underwood, we’re looking at you.

“But, as far as a character? No. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do,” the TWD star concluded.

Norman Reedus reads BroApp messages on the Tonight Show

Careful research for the past two minutes has taught me that the BroApp is a "relationship wingman" for guys who want to spend more time with their bros instead of with their broad. Presumably because women are stupid and boring and make you change your socks. I'm not sure. Regardless, the BroApp will send cutesy messages to your girlfriend so you can have fart contests and tell jokes about farts and spend more time at Fart Mountain or whatever it is men do when they're not barbecuing.

Naturally, the messages are infantilizing and idiotic and contain teddy bears, because women, amirite?

The thing is though, that when they're read out loud by Norman Reedus even bro messages mysteriously become poetry.
