The Boondock Saints 3 Is Happening, Script Revealed

After many rumors that it was happening only to be told it wasn't, it turns out it is finally happening!

According to the official Boondock Saints page, a new movie is in the works. The page posted a few pages from a script and notes that The Boondock Saints 3 is in production. The post reads as follows:
"Troy has been working on the script for Boondock Saints III, I snagged a couple of pages for everyone. IT IS going to happen."

According to the leaked script both main characters (Connor and Murphy) will be returning. Which as fans will know means that both Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus will be coming back! The movie could easily get a huge boost thanks to the popularity Reedus has gained from The Walking Dead.

Of course it is still in the screenwriting stage so anything could happen beyond this point, but it is looking good for fans at least! The post has been up over an hour now and has over 17k likes. According to the comments, many people are excited!

This comes off the heels of many other projects and ideas the page had posted. Recently they planned to make a TV show based on the movie, instead of the third movie. Fans also got to vote on possible projects, including a possible third movie. Almost anything that came from these ideas were denied and put down as rumors, but it seems the idea of a third movie has won the battle.

Here are the images provided by the fan page.

The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Wants To Go Out In A Hail Of Gunfire In Boondocks Saints III

Everyone wonders how Norman Reedus’ character Daryl Dixon might go out on The Walking Dead, but so far Reedus has remained quiet on potential ends for his character.

When Comicbook.com posed the question to him earlier this year, Reedus said, “What’s with all these death questions? Maybe, I can be found by a harem of sirens that can sing to me and pet my head. I could become their sex slave and populate mermaid land with redneck fish people.”

However, Reedus has revealed how he wants his character Murphy MacManus from Boondocks Saints III to meet his demise. In an interview on the Schmoes Know show, Reedus chatted about the possibility of a Boondocks Saints III, which the script is currently being written for. “I want to read it. I want it to be good. I probably want it to end there,” said Reedus.

As far as how it would end for his character, Reedus said he wants to go out in a “hail of gunfire.” Check out the full Schmoes Know interview with Norman Reedus below.

Norman Reedus Says Boondock Saints III Is Being Written Right Now

The original Boondock Saints movie came out in 1999. The film starred Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus, and it was written and directed by Troy Duffy.

The Boondock Saints initially had a limited and unsuccessful run in a handful of theaters, but it went on to become a cult classic on video. In 2009, a sequel called The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day was released.

In an appearance at the Wizard World New York Experience, Norman Reedus was asked about the long-rumored third Boondock Saints movie. Norman Reedus said, “Supposedly Troy [Duffy] is writing it right now, so I’m curious to read it.”

Explaining the ten year gap between the first Boondock Saints movie and the second Boondock Saints movie, Norman Reedus said, “You know, there was a lawsuit with that movie, so there was a ten year contract.

We couldn’t even do part 2 until the ten years expired. Everybody wanted to do it sooner, but I think the story is all the lawyers were sitting in a room, right when the clock struck 12, everyone had their pen in their hand, you know, waiting for the ten years to be over. That’s why it took ten years.”

Boondock Saints panel at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo 2013

During the Boondock Saints panel at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, Flanery was asked by a fan when we can expect the long anticipated sequel to ever see the light of day. He answered emphatically saying, "After the recent tragedies hit Boston I texted (director) Troy Duffy to ask him about when he would work on the third one and he replied 'on it'."

Flanery mentioned that some images were floating around tying together imagery from the Boondock Saints films after the recent bombings struck the city of Boston and it appears to have been a factor in kickstarting the third movie in this beloved vigilante franchise. Another question spurred quite the controversial response from Flanery when he was asked what his thoughts on vigilante justice were and he mentioned how he was disgusted how people that rape and torture only get 10 years prison.

"Well, I'm from Texas so what I'd do is take the person out back and shoot him in the f***ing head," he said. The response jolted the Canadian crowd into a frenzy of applause.

Fellow Saint and current Walking Dead star Norman Reedus was late to the panel after being consumed by the fans but when he showed up, the chemistry and brotherly love between actors was awesome to behold.

Flanery complimented Reedus near the end of the panel by comparing the essence of his character Daryl Dixon on Walking Dead to that of when Henry Winkler portrayed The Fonz.
The panel was one of the most memorable in Calgary Expo history and the room was absolutely jam packed during the sold out convention.
